Recent polling during the October 5 Quebec election campaign shows the Parti Québécois holding a narrow lead near 28%, with the Parti libéral du Québec and Coalition Avenir Québec trading places around 22-24% and the Parti conservateur du Québec climbing to 16-17%. This volatility, including the CAQ's recent slide to third in several surveys amid leadership transitions and regional swings, underpins trader consensus favoring the CAQ for third place while keeping the PLQ and PCQ in contention. Key factors include strong PCQ performance in the Quebec City area, PLQ strength on Montreal Island, and campaign debates that have not produced decisive shifts. Upcoming final weeks of voting intentions and seat projections could still alter the order among these parties.
