The tight contest for second place in Roraima’s October 4 Senate election reflects the clustered polling among the leading contenders. A late-August Quaest survey showed Teresa Surita (MDB) at 19%, Nicoletti (PL) at 17%, and Helena da Asatur (PSD) at 16% in combined first- and second-choice voting, all within the margin of error, while Chico Rodrigues (PSB) trailed at 11% and spontaneous recognition left 67% undecided. With voters casting two ballots for the two available seats and a fragmented field of 13 candidates, modest shifts in turnout, consolidation of undecided voters, or last-minute alliances can readily reorder the second-place finish. Trader pricing mirrors this uncertainty, with Nicoletti holding the highest implied probability for second among the top trio.
