Recent polling shows the Parti Québécois leading overall ahead of the October 5 election, leaving the contest for second place primarily between the Quebec Liberal Party and the Coalition Avenir Québec. The CAQ has narrowed the gap with the PQ in the latest Synopsis survey after gaining seven points in two weeks, drawing support from women and older voters amid concerns over the U.S. trade conflict and provincial services. Liberals retain strength in Montreal and among anglophone and allophone voters but have lost ground provincewide. Québec solidaire and the Conservative Party of Quebec trail further back with limited paths to second. Regional vote concentration, turnout patterns, and campaign momentum on economic and language issues could shift the second-place outcome before election day.
