Chen Yu-jen’s commanding position as the KMT nominee in the November 28, 2026 Kinmen County magistrate race reflects strong local party infrastructure and internal polling advantages in a historically KMT-leaning electorate with no DPP candidate. As the sole registrant for her party’s nomination, she benefits from unified organizational backing, emphasis on long-term care, smart-city development, and cross-strait stability, while independents including Li Wen-liang, Liang Wen-tao, and Yang Cheng-wu split opposition support. Trader consensus at 90.5% for Chen aligns with these structural factors and limited recent shifts. Fragmented independent candidacies or unforeseen local developments could still narrow the gap before registration closes.
