Nominations for the 2026 VMAs Best Cinematography category highlight a tight race among six videos, with Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” holding the highest market-implied odds at 38.5% due to its elaborate period visuals, Busby Berkeley-inspired sequences, and work by acclaimed cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto. Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” featuring Janusz Kamiński’s contributions, trails at 27.5%, while Shaboozey’s “Cowgirl,” Madonna’s ambitious “Confessions II – The Film,” A$AP Rocky’s “Punk Rocky,” and Lisa’s “Dream” sit in the low-to-mid 20s. The closely matched probabilities reflect fan voting dynamics ahead of the September 27 ceremony, where strong critical reception, directorial vision, and historical precedent for visually ambitious pop and country clips could sway final sentiment in this unpredictable category.
