Madonna’s “Confessions II – The Film” holds the clearest edge in the returning Best Dance category, buoyed by her record 13 VMA nominations, the project’s high-profile Tribeca premiere, and strong critical notes on its choreography, direction, and visual execution as a direct sequel to her 2005 dance-floor classic. The other six nominees—PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson’s “Stateside,” Tate McRae’s “Nobody’s Girl,” Harry Styles’ “Aperture,” Slayyyter’s “Dance…,” Lady Gaga and Doechii’s “Runway,” and Bebe Rexha and Faithless’ “New Religion”—compete in a wide-open field where streaming momentum, recent chart performance, and fan-voting patterns through Sept. 25 will shape outcomes ahead of the Sept. 27 ceremony. Traders appear to weigh Madonna’s legacy and multi-category visibility most heavily while treating the rest as closely contested longshots.
