**Dai Dai by Shakira and Burna Boy holds the strongest market position in the VMA Best Latin category due to its status as the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem.** Released in May, the multilingual Afrobeats-dance-pop track achieved record global chart performance, including extended runs at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, and received major exposure through the tournament’s opening ceremony and final halftime show. This high-visibility platform and crossover appeal differentiate it from fellow nominees such as Anitta and Shakira’s “Choka Choka,” Rosalía’s “La Perla,” and entries from Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Fuerza Regida. With the September 27 ceremony approaching, traders are pricing in the song’s cultural momentum and broad industry narrative while noting that VMA genre-category voting can still reward strong fan engagement or late promotional pushes from competitors.
