James Talarico holds a 63.5% implied probability in the Collin County portion of the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate contest against Ken Paxton at 36.5%, reflecting trader assessments of recent campaign dynamics. Talarico has drawn thousands to events in Plano, Paxton’s longtime home base and a traditional Republican stronghold, while raising record sums with broad small-dollar support. Statewide polling through mid-September shows the overall race in a statistical tie or slight Talarico edge, with both candidates consolidating their parties ahead of the November 3 general election. Paxton secured the GOP nomination after defeating incumbent John Cornyn in the May runoff. Multiple minor candidates and “other” options trade near even odds, underscoring uncertainty over vote splitting in the county.
