Incumbent Democrat Lou Correa holds a commanding position in California's 46th congressional district ahead of the November 3 general election. The solidly Democratic seat, with a partisan voting index favoring the party by double digits, delivered Correa a 63% victory in 2024 and saw him top the June 2026 top-two primary with 52% of the vote against Republican David Pan's 33%. Correa's substantial fundraising edge, labor endorsements, and established local profile in Orange County communities reinforce trader consensus. Pan, a UC Irvine professor, advanced as the sole Republican but trails significantly in resources and name recognition. While late developments such as a major scandal, health event, or sharp national partisan swing could theoretically narrow the gap, historical patterns and current structural advantages make such shifts improbable in this cycle.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
