Incumbent Bryan Steil maintains a clear edge in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District, an R+2 seat he has held since 2019, supported by strong fundraising and primary results where he faced no opposition on August 11. Mitchell Berman advanced as the Democratic nominee after winning his primary with 44 percent and has drawn national attention through the DCCC’s September 15 addition to its Red to Blue program, unlocking extra resources for a challenge centered on healthcare costs and working-class issues. Recent polling shows the race within a few points or tied, narrowing Steil’s prior lead and reflecting the district’s competitiveness after 2024 voting patterns. The November 3 general election timeline and Berman’s early advertising keep the outcome sensitive to late-cycle momentum and turnout among key blocs.
