Persistent high-pressure ridging over the southern Plains continues to drive above-normal late-summer heat into North Texas, with National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance converging on afternoon highs of 96–100°F for Dallas on September 1 amid mostly sunny skies and light southeast winds. Recent days have featured readings near or above 100°F under similar conditions, keeping 98–99°F and 100–101°F ranges as the dominant trader consensus at 66% and 27.5% implied probability. While seasonal norms for early September sit near 93–94°F, the ongoing drought and suppressed cloud cover limit rapid cooling; any late adjustments to steering flow or moisture return could shift outcomes within the narrow forecast window.
