Teresa Surita (MDB) holds a narrow edge in trader pricing for first place in Roraima’s October 4 Senate election, where voters select two candidates for the state’s two seats. A late-August Quaest survey placed her at 19% overall and 26% in first-preference simulations, ahead of Nicoletti (PL) at 17-20% and Helena da Asatur (PSD) at 16-19%, with Chico Rodrigues further back. The contest stays tight because of a crowded 13-candidate field, substantial undecided voters (17% in stimulated responses), and limited recent campaign movement beyond candidate registrations and asset declarations. Surita’s long record as former Boa Vista mayor provides name recognition that has not yet translated into a decisive lead, while party coalitions and the concurrent gubernatorial race continue to shape voter attention without producing major shifts in the past month.
