Latest National Weather Service and model guidance for September 1 points to a mostly cloudy day with southwest flow and a 50% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms, supporting market-implied odds favoring an 82–85°F peak. Persistent humidity and cloud cover are expected to limit full insolation, keeping the daily maximum near or slightly above the long-term September 1 average of roughly 81°F while steering patterns favor modest warming from recent cooler conditions. Minor model spread on convective timing and cloud breaks creates the tight clustering between the 82–83°F and 84–85°F bins, with lower probabilities assigned to extremes that would require either strong clearing or widespread rain-cooled air. Updated forecast discussions and any overnight model runs remain the key near-term catalysts for shifts in trader positioning.
