This market will resolve based on the result of the election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Office of the Electoral Commission of Samoa (https://www.oec.gov.ws/; https://www.facebook.com/oecsamoa).A fragmented field of more than a dozen candidates, including FAST and HRPP nominees alongside multiple independents, is sustaining even odds across most contenders ahead of the 18 September by-election for Samoa’s Vaimauga 3 seat. The contest follows the Electoral Court’s voiding of the May result after convictions for corrupt practices against the prior winner and challenger, with the Court of Appeal upholding that decision and barring both from standing again.
