Amish Shah holds the lead in trader consensus for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District because the open seat, vacated by Republican David Schweikert’s gubernatorial bid, sits in a narrow R+1 district that Democrats have targeted as a top pickup opportunity. Shah, an emergency physician and former state lawmaker who won the July Democratic primary without establishment backing, benefits from a moderate record that includes law enforcement endorsements and bipartisan legislation on public safety and fentanyl. Jay Feely, the Trump-endorsed former NFL kicker who prevailed in the Republican primary, faces challenges in a contest rated toss-up or lean Democratic by most forecasters, where independent voters and turnout in suburban Maricopa County areas will decide the outcome on November 3.
