Chris Stigall secured the Republican nomination for Missouri’s 6th Congressional District in the August 4 primary with 44% of the vote, backed by retiring incumbent Sam Graves’ endorsement and strong name recognition from his conservative radio background. The open seat in a district that delivered over 70% for the GOP in 2024 positions Stigall as the clear frontrunner against Democratic nominee Josh Smead, who won his primary with 48%. Trader consensus at 94.5% for Stigall reflects the district’s consistent Republican voting patterns, limited Democratic infrastructure in rural northwest Missouri, and Stigall’s fundraising edge. A shift would require an unusually large national Democratic surge, a major candidate-specific development, or turnout anomalies that have not materialized in recent cycles.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
