Recent August 2026 CPI data showing headline inflation at 3.26% year-over-year, with core at 3.88%, anchors trader sentiment for Mexico's 2026 annual inflation outcome. Banxico's August quarterly report projects average headline inflation near 3.5% for Q4 2026, with convergence to the 3% target delayed to late 2027 amid sticky services prices and upside risks from USMCA trade uncertainty, peso depreciation, and external shocks. Analyst surveys place end-2026 expectations around 3.9%, supporting the market-implied odds favoring the 3.50-3.99% bucket over the closely trailing 4.00-4.49% range. Persistent core pressures and balanced growth risks keep probabilities competitive, with upcoming September inflation and Banxico policy decisions likely to influence near-term repricing.
