Trader consensus for the September 2026 ISM Services PMI centers on readings in the mid-50s, with the 54.0–54.9 range carrying the highest implied probability at 33%. This distribution reflects ongoing uncertainty in the services sector amid moderating consumer spending, persistent but cooling inflation pressures, and a resilient yet softening labor market. Recent economic releases, including August nonfarm payrolls and CPI figures, have shaped expectations for business activity, new orders, and employment sub-indices, while Treasury yields and Fed communications continue to influence rate-sensitive demand. The broad spread across outcomes underscores the potential for revisions in leading indicators or last-minute data surprises ahead of the early-October release, with probabilities anchored by real-capital positioning rather than point forecasts.
