Incumbent Marianne Meed Ward holds a leading position in the Burlington, Ontario mayoral race ahead of the October 26, 2026 municipal election, supported by her two prior terms since 2018 and emphasis on infrastructure investment, public safety, and intergovernmental relations. Nominations closed August 21 with five certified candidates, including sitting councillors Lisa Kearns and Rory Nisan, plus Keith Demoe and Yugalkeesor Ramdhonee. A mid-August poll showed Meed Ward narrowly ahead at 38 percent among decided voters, ahead of Nisan at 33 percent and Kearns at 23 percent. Campaign activity has intensified with signs permitted from August 22 and upcoming debates, though no major shifts in positioning have emerged since nominations finalized. Trader consensus prices reflect the incumbent's established record and name recognition in this nonpartisan contest.
