This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Tennessee. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Tennessee, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The open gubernatorial contest following term-limited Republican Bill Lee’s departure serves as the main catalyst elevating expected turnout above typical midterm levels in Tennessee. Traders assign the highest probability to the 2M-2.2M vote range because historical patterns show open statewide races add several points to participation when paired with down-ballot contests, yet the low-competition U.S. Senate matchup between incumbent Bill Hagerty and Democrat Marquita Bradshaw constrains broader mobilization in a solidly Republican state. August primaries provided fresh signals of this dynamic, with elevated early voting statewide and a Democratic surge in Shelby County linked to redistricting, supporting modest expansion without shifting odds into higher bins. The November 3 general election timeline leaves room for late-cycle factors such as national conditions or additional early-voting data to influence final totals.
