Lula holds a commanding lead in Sergipe for first place in the October 4 first round, backed by consistent recent polling showing him at 53% against Flávio Bolsonaro’s 19% in the latest Quaest survey and similar margins in prior state-level data. The Northeast state remains a traditional PT stronghold, reinforced by Lula’s 60% approval rating and 50% positive government evaluation among local voters, with 83% describing their preference as firm. Bolsonaro-family and other center-right names trail far behind, reflecting limited penetration in the region despite national positioning. Low shares for fringe candidates align with their sub-3% readings in the same polls. Late shifts in turnout, federal campaign dynamics, or unexpected national events could narrow the gap before voting, though the current evidence points to structural regional support sustaining the frontrunner’s position.
