Republican nominee Aaron Flint holds a 62.5% implied probability in the MT-01 House race against Democrat Sam Forstag at 37.5%, reflecting the district’s R+5 partisan voting index and its status as an open Republican seat after Ryan Zinke’s retirement. Flint secured the GOP nomination in the June primary with backing from President Trump, while Forstag won a competitive Democratic primary emphasizing his background as a smokejumper and union leader. A June internal poll showed the matchup tied, and nonpartisan ratings classify the contest as likely or lean Republican. The general election on November 3 features Democratic strength in western counties such as Missoula and Bozeman, yet the modest Republican lean and historical voting patterns support trader pricing that favors the GOP candidate.
