Recent polling averages place the Parti Libéral du Québec near 20-24% support ahead of the October 5 election, with projections centering 28-38 seats due to heavy concentration among anglophone and allophone voters in Montreal ridings. This geographic strength secures a floor near opposition status but limits upside, as francophone backing remains low amid a tight PQ-CAQ contest for first place. Late-August surveys show PLQ support dropping as the CAQ narrows the PQ lead, reflecting voter shifts on economic pressures and healthcare. Multi-party fragmentation, regional riding math, and the short campaign window keep outcomes clustered across the middle bins, with further poll movement or turnout differences in key Montreal seats likely to widen or narrow the range.
