Recent polls from late August show a fragmented field for Rio de Janeiro's two Senate seats, with Benedita da Silva (PT) leading overall while Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos), Carlos Jordy (PL), Carlos Portinho (PL), Monica Benicio (PSOL), and Pedro Paulo (PSD) remain tightly bunched behind in technical ties within margins of error. High undecided and blank/null shares near 57% in Quaest surveys, combined with voters selecting up to two names, sustain uncertainty over final ordering. The right's multiple contenders from PL and Republicanos split support, while left and center options create further volatility. Trader pricing for second place reflects these polling patterns and the absence of decisive late shifts, with separation likely hinging on turnout among swing voters or any last-minute endorsements ahead of the October 4 vote.
