Incumbent Democrat Don Beyer holds a commanding lead in Virginia's 8th congressional district, a strongly Democratic Northern Virginia seat encompassing Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and parts of Fairfax County. Beyer secured his party's nomination in the August 2026 primary with roughly two-thirds of the vote and faces Republican challenger Tony Sabio, a former CIA and Secret Service officer who ran unopposed. Multiple forecasting models rate the general election Solid Democratic, citing the district's consistent partisan lean exceeding 20 points and Beyer's long tenure since 2015. Trader consensus in this market aligns with those fundamentals and historical reelection patterns for incumbents in safe seats. Scenarios that could still shift outcomes include an unforeseen personal or ethical development affecting Beyer or an abrupt national political realignment before November.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
