**PQ leads Quebec's October 5, 2026, provincial election as the consistent polling frontrunner, with recent surveys placing it at 28-30% support ahead of the CAQ's 24-27% surge.** The Parti Québécois under Paul St-Pierre Plamondon has held a months-long advantage among francophone voters, its core base, supporting stronger seat projections despite a fragmented National Assembly. The Coalition Avenir Québec, now led by Premier Christine Fréchette since April 2026, has narrowed the gap in the campaign's opening days through gains in Montreal suburbs and among older voters, aided by voter focus on the Canada-U.S. trade tensions. The Quebec Liberal Party trails further back at roughly 20-22%, with limited francophone support, while the Parti Conservateur du Québec and Québec solidaire remain in single digits. Traders price the PQ as the clear favorite based on sustained popular-vote leads and regional dynamics that favor it in most ridings, though the CAQ's momentum and the short campaign window keep a narrower path open for an upset. The election occurs under a new electoral map with 127 divisions.
