Hsu Hsin-ying holds an 83% implied probability in the Hsinchu County Magistrate race, reflecting her KMT nomination after a March 2026 primary victory over Deputy Magistrate Chen Chien-hsien and the party's established local organization under incumbent Yang Wen-ke. Cheng Chao-fang, the DPP nominee and former Zhubei mayor recruited in June, trails at 17% amid surveys showing Hsu's broader support across most municipalities outside Zhubei. Minor candidates including Chen and Lin Szu-ming register negligible shares. Recent developments include late-August strains in KMT-TPP coordination over Zhubei mayoral arrangements that could indirectly affect turnout, though candidate registration opening on August 31 has not materially shifted positioning ahead of the November 28 vote. Trader consensus prices the contest as Hsu's to lose barring major late developments.
