United Russia maintains a dominant position in the 2026 State Duma election race due to its status as the incumbent party of power, extensive administrative resources, and a mixed electoral system that combines proportional party-list voting with single-member districts favoring established organizations. Official decrees set voting for September 18–20, and recent party congresses have emphasized social programs such as minimum wage increases alongside inclusion of war veterans on candidate lists. State-affiliated polls from FOM and WCIOM show United Russia leading by wide margins, while independent surveys indicate narrower but still substantial support. New People ranks as the clearest alternative in trader assessments amid limited competition, following the Supreme Court disqualification of Yabloko in August and reduced opposition field overall. Other parties face structural barriers to overtaking the leader under current conditions.
